Who can use the service
Who can use the service?
Anyone who has been accepted onto MTCBC's Common Housing Register - called Living Merthyr Tydfil is able to use the service. To apply to join the Common Housing Register you must be over 16 years of age.
You will need to complete a Housing Registration Appllication on this site. Many of the information fields are mandatory and so must be completed with current, accurate information.
To support you Housing Registration Application you may be asked to provide the following documents:
- Proof of identity for all household members (e.g. passports, birth certificates)
- Proof of current address (e.g. recent gas or electricity bill)
- Evidence of your right to reside in the UK if you are not a British Citizen (e.g. passport and other relevant documents from the Home Office)
Once you have submitted a completed online Housing Registration Application, Council Officers will review your application and will seek to validate some of the information provided. To assist in this task, you may be contacted to provide further information.
If you do not provide us with the documents required your application will not be entered onto the common housing register and hence you will not be able to apply for properties. Once the documents are received your application will be assessed and placed in the appropriate band from the date the documents were received. For further information on priority bands please see our Allocations policy here - Apply for Social Housing | Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council
